Presenting Photo Images

Presenting Photo Images
Student: Joanna Ebbrell
Topic: Church

Why have you presented your work in this manner?
I've decided to go for displaying my images on the blog as well as 7x5 prints in an old style photo album.
I've chosen to use the blog as all my post and previous work was displayed like that and blog its a quick and easy way to show your progress and also exposes your work a bigger audience.
Photo album presentation I feel is  more effective. Albums are timeless classic, smart, clean and impact full.
For this theme I've chosen a black, vintage style photo album with thick cream pages and tissue overlay to protect pictures.
Its is very important in my opinion to present your work in the right way, trying to give it a professional and elegant appearance is the key.

Describe the process for presenting your work
After taking the images, they will were manipulated in Photoshop, then saved onto my computer and a backup copy saved to my memory stick(usb port) Next the the photos will be transferred and published to my blog. Comentary and details added afterwards.
After a quick research and peoples suggestions I've opened an account with Photobox (online printing website) once that was done I've uploaded my photos to the site and I've requested my prints. The size I've chosen is 7x5 which I think is just the right, easy and comfortable to handle. I went for glossy paper.
After the prints arrived they were placed into the photo album, one image per page.

Describe other presentation methods considered and give an explanation for deciding against them
-power point presentation
-images on a cd/usb port
-framed /canvas images
-online presentation including blog/website/portfolio
-gallery display

I feel some of the above methods of presentation are rather expensive(framed/canvas prints and gallery display) I think images ona cd/usb port are not as personal neither professional looking.
Power point presentation requires background music, wallpapers, frames and that can often take interest away from the actual photographs, I also think it can be boring for a viewer.
For my theme I think Photo album presentation is the most suitable.

What health and safety considerations did you observe

Health and safety measures must be taken whilst using a laptop/computer when uploading images on blog and ordering prints online as there is a risk of:
-electrocution
-eye strain and headaches
-strain in the back of the hand due to excessive 'mouse' clicking,
-stress
-neck ache
What to do to avoid
-make sure that workstations meet safety requirements /PAT test equipment by an electrician
-plan work so there are breaks or changes in the type of work done
